Mild hybrid is a technology that stores the kinetic energy produced when a vehicle brakes or decelerates.

The energy accumulated is used to support the combustion engine during start-up and acceleration.

While this hybrid system is close to that of a full hybrid, it does not offer the option of 100% electric driving.

However, it also makes driving much more enjoyable, and significantly reduces fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions.

Mild hybrid technology relies on a small electric motor, acting as a starter-alternator, and a 48 V battery.

During braking or deceleration, the battery acts as a generator, charging itself by recovering the kinetic energy produced.

With a belt connected between the two, the energy stored in the battery drives the internal combustion engine, providing additional power during the most energy-intensive driving phases, such as starting and acceleration.
